Neuro-Affirming Counseling
for all ages and stages

Support for parents, kids, and individuals who are ready to find their path forward

Parents come to me when:

  • Traditional parenting techniques aren’t working

  • They are burnt out and exhausted

  • They feel like they are spinning their wheels

  • There is something different about their child that they can’t put their finger on

  • Their child or teen has emotional outbursts that are hard to manage

Individuals come to me when:

  • They are self-suspecting about their own neurodivergence and are ready to learn more about themselves

  • They need a safe space to unmask and be their authentic selves

  • They have late diagnosed ADHD or Autism, and would like to better understand themselves and strategies to set themselves up for success in the systems around them

  • They would like support with executive function

  • They would like to build a vision and path for themselves that feels aligned with their needs, values, and identity

What Does Neuro-Affirming Mean?

My therapy space and approach are designed to honor clients’ sensory preferences, preferred play styles, and special interests, while honing their unique strengths and building their self-identity and self-esteem. I believe in supporting all my clients in creating a village, between family, schools, specialists, doctors, and other environments, that will support and honor their journey in becoming their best selves. I work with individuals and family members to better understand each other and create an environment that supports each individual’s growth while creating peace in the home.

“Play approaches and interventions should not promote masking and camouflaging (the act of hiding or suppressing one's authentic self to appear more "typical"). Instead, focus should be on strengths: helping children (and adults) value their authentic selves, recognizing what they already do well, and communicating value. Strengths can be used as entry points for therapeutic growth, resilience-building, and achieving identified therapy goals.”
